Statement: English High Court case

A spokesman for Mr Magomedov said:
We are naturally disappointed with the decision and intend to seek permission to appeal. The Court was satisfied that there was there was a good arguable case that Mr Magomedov had been the victim of conspiracies involving (among others) the Russian state-owned companies, Rosatom and Transneft. The Court has also found that there is a real risk that Mr Magomedov will not obtain justice in the Russian courts.

Against this backdrop – and with the news today that Alexei Navalny’s lawyers have been jailed in Russia – denying Mr Magomedov the opportunity to have his claims tried here, is very regrettable. Mr Magomedov and his companies will continue to seek redress for the loss of their multi-billion-dollar assets.
